TSB's Executive Business Curriculum

 

For owner-operated business leaders, the Executive Business curriculum is designed to leverage your existing experience and give you the additional depth of knowledge to take your firm and career to the next level without interrupting the management of your existing business.  The program targets overall leadership development as well as foundational, strategic, and functional principles to give you the tools to grow your business and communicate in the ever complex business world in which we operate.

The program is held as Summer and Fall Semester including a Summer Break in between and begin January 2020.  Sessions are held twice per month on Wednesdays from 9:00 – 11:30 and will include a boxed lunch networking wrap up.  Participants will be responsible for outside work in preparation for classes and may include reading, researching or preparing information for class time discussion.  Overall the Executive Business Curriculum encompasses approximately 50 hours of instruction.  The candidate will be responsible for $1200 towards the cost of the program.

To be considered for admission to the January 2020 class, please submit your completed application by January 6, 2020. 

We will be offering an Academy program twice per year, the first 2020 class begins January 2020 and the second class will begin September 2020.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can multiple people from the same company enroll?
Yes! The curriculum segments are designed specifically to help business owners and their key players to learn the foundational, strategic and functional areas that are critical to operating a successful business.

What is the cost of the program?
The TSB Academy is a year long program that encompasses approximately 50 hours of instruction. The current cost of the program is $1200.00.

What happens if I have to miss a session?
Attendance to all sessions is important because the program is structured in a way that each topic builds upon the next to maximize learning. Of course, we understand that emergencies happen and can be discussed with the Executive Director.

Is joining by Skype an option?
Classroom interaction and participation is very important for the overall experience and enhances all students experience, therefore we do not offer Skype as an option, as we believe attendance is critical.

What do I need to bring with me to class?
We recommend that you bring a notebook and pen to take notes. Instructors do provide handouts of the presentation and we provide binders to keep classwork organized. If there are additional items needed the Executive Director will let you know ahead of class.

Do I get CPE credit for attending?
No. We are not currently certified to offer that credit at this time.

Is there a discount for multiple enrollments from the same company?
No. We do not offer discounts for multiple enrollments which is why we keep the cost of the program at a reasonable level.

May I bring someone with me from my company just for one session?
We are happy to accommodate a request to have a key player join the group for a session. Please check with the Executive Director for availability.

After I apply, how long will it be before I know if I am accepted to the TSB Academy?
Applications are viewed weekly, therefore response for acceptance into the TSB Academy is usually within a two week turnaround period.

How will I know that I have been accepted?
You will receive an email acceptance letter with further instructions letting you know that you have been selected.

What are the dress guidelines?
We have individuals attending that have varying types of businesses, so business casual is recommended.

Craig Scheef currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Texas Security Bank. Craig is the founder of Texas Security Bank, committed to advancing the champions of free enterprise. Craig is a 30-year commercial banker, who is a trusted resource for owner man-aged businesses.

Chris Jones currently serves as Chief Lending Officer, Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors for Texas Security Bank. Chris has been in the financial services industry for 30+ years, serving in various roles from Middle Market Lending to Business Development. He was President of Allied Capital Partners before becoming one of the Founders of Texas Security Bank.

Ed McQueen is a partner with Bell Nunnally Attorney & Counselors. His practice focuses on corporate, commercial and real estate finance. Ed concentrates in the areas of complex commercial and real estate lending transactions, structured finance, corporate workouts, complex commercial transactions, debt restructuring, asset based finance, leveraged buyouts and syndicated loan transactions.

Terri Swain is the founder and managing partner of The HR Consultant, a Fort Worth based human resources consulting firm specializing in Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and employee relations. She has managed major reorganizations and staffing during mergers and acquisitions; designing and implementing performance management systems; developing start-up human resource plans; and developing corporate diversity initiatives.

Taylor St. Germain Economic Analyst at ITR Economics.  Taylor provides economic consulting services for small businesses, trade associations, and Fortune 500 companies across a spectrum of industries.  As a member of the Leading Indicator team with experience in both consulting and forecasting, Taylor is a key contributor to ITR Economics’ forecast accuracy rating of 94.7%.
